This GM direct replacement harmonic Damper Bolt is a must when replacing your harmonic balancer. One of the most noticeable symptoms of a bad Harmonic Balancer is excessive engine vibration. The Harmonic Balancer is designed to absorb engine vibrations as engine speeds increase. If the balancer gets worn out or fails, it can no longer absorb the harmonic vibrations. This will cause an excessive vibration within the engine bay.
