Description
Replace your faulty coolant temperature sensor with this Genuine Ford Motorcraft SW-925 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor, part number DOZZ-10884-A, designed for 1994–1997 7.3L Powerstroke diesel engines.
Ford used two different coolant temperature sensors on these engines that look very similar but function differently. Installing the wrong sensor can result in incorrect temperature readings.
This listing is for the RED ring sensor (SW-925 / DOZZ-10884-A).
Important Fitment Note (Read Before Purchasing): There are two styles of sensors used on 7.3L Powerstroke engines:
Quick Test:
– If you touch the sensor wire to ground and the temp gauge goes full scale → You need the GREEN sensor (SW-2328 / F1SZ-10884-A)
– If nothing happens → You need this RED sensor (SW-925 / DOZZ-10884-A)
Visual Identification:
– Red ring around the electrical pin → This sensor (SW-925 / DOZZ-10884-A)
– Green ring → Requires SW-2328 / F1SZ-10884-A instead
Due to age, the color ring may be difficult to see once installed.
