The fuel vacuum switch plays a critical role in regulating fuel pressure within the system. When it leaks, it can cause extended crank times or a no-start condition. Replacing it with this OEM GM part ensures proper sealing, system reliability, and long-term durability.
The vacuum switch on an LML Duramax engine is located on the passenger side of the engine, just below the throttle valve. It’s part of the fuel system and specifically monitors vacuum pressure between the fuel filter and the CP4.2 high-pressure fuel pump. This switch is designed to report excessive vacuum to the ECM.
